The worst time to start a business?

Is this never-ending pandemic the worst possible time to start a business? Well let us find that out for you in real-time! We have just established our boutique video production house ‘The Kiln’ in Ottawa, Canada during the worst economic downturn since the great depression.

While many businesses have certainly and obviously suffered greatly due to restricted movement of consumers, some others have inevitably thrived. Businesses that were already well established online already had a strong foundation to continue their business relatively unscathed, even thrive, as long as their product or service didn’t require their customer to breach lockdown laws to gain benefit from it. It also presented a great opportunity for bricks and mortar companies to launch online, reach a whole new pool of customers and evolve their business further.

For us, that means we still have a market to contribute to and people to help. Those businesses thriving online need video and photography to showcase their products and services to an audience that now happens to be online a whole lot more. In that spirit we are looking forward to helping people take advantage of those opportunities that have presented themselves. So we move forward with the hope that for us at The Kiln it isn’t the worst time to start a video production and photography business, it in fact could be the best time.
