Why The Kiln?

The Kiln is founded out of a passion to develop engaging and creative video for brands and people of all shapes and sizes. Our creative approach is inspired by fashion, movement and lifestyle. We believe that every person or brand has a unique story to share and we want to help you tell it.

What types of videos do you make?

We can produce whatever you need for your project including documentary, brand, campaign, explainer videos, profile, teaser, product and commercial videos.

How do you operate?

There is a lot of moving parts that have to come together to produce quality video, and the process depends on you and your needs. We work with you from initial video concept creation all the way through to storyboarding, scriptwriting, and location scouting. Once we have had our initial call with you to discover your needs we then provide you with a rundown of the necessary equipment, shooting days, and editing days in the form of a quotation for you to approve. Once a deposit of 50% of the quotation has been made, we the look after production, all editing, color grading, compositing, rendering, exporting, musical score, sound FX voice-overs, sound recording, mixing, and mastering.

Where are you located?

Our video production HQ is situated in Canada’s capital Ottawa but we consistently operate in Toronto and Montreal. This does not restrict us in operating across the rest of Canada and for global clients as well, we have produced video for clients in Europe, USA and Australia, and filmed in Nepal, Sydney and Melbourne.

Are you able to work remotely?

For sure! In the video industry even before COVID, clients would often prefer working remotely as it was most efficient. Whether it’s preproduction emails, phone and video meetings or directing on a production in real-time remotely, we are able to cater to your remote working needs. We’re also happy to meet in real life too!

How long will it take to get my video?

In depends on the intricacies of each project and the final deliverables involved, but typically we aim to get first drafts to you for approval within 3-4 weeks from final day of production. Depending on your needs, we can always adapt timelines to get you your video by a specific deadline.
