What we’re watching

We love scouring the net for our daily dose of inspiration. So we thought we’d make it a regular thing of sharing some of our favorite videos from the interwebs that make us want to get out there and shoot!

Rapha Rides Maui

First up is from filmmaker Danny Gevirtz, a great piece painting a picture of the passion of cycling and shot across the stunning landscapes of Hawaii. This is beautifully done and is a great example of nailing the flow of the edit to tell the story effectively and with maximum engagement.

In Residence: Mattia Bonetti

Next up is a piece from Sydney Director Max hemmings commissioned by Nowness, a beautifully curated home for creativity and design. If you haven’t checked them out be sure to have a look at their Vimeo channel. You won’t be disappointed. This piece delves into how Paris-based artist and designer Mattia Bonetti finds his inspiration and how it shapes his creations. The piece feels as if it effortlessly floats from place to place as Mattia softly reveals his methods. Set on the surreal Lake Lugano in southern Switzerland, it would be hard to take a bad shot with that as your backdrop!

A Day On Solid Ground

Finally this from director Kristina Lipatov. A piece that shows that simple and deliberate is powerful. The whole piece is one continuous shot, holding the viewers attention as more and more of the story is revealed as the camera moves closer and closer to the subjects, revealing small clues as to what has taken place. Hauntingly beautiful singing helps to calm a heavily breathing subject which intrigues the viewer leaving it to their imagination the endless possibilities of what has just taken place.
